Thesis statement

Charlotte Bronte and Jean Rhyes use differing perceptions of Mr. Rochester in order to reveal the complexity of his character.

  1. This is a good subject that seems like it would be fun to work with. You could even narrow it down if you wanted to focus on a specific part of Rochester, or keep it broad and still have a very relevant essay.

  2. Agreed. Start this thesis with a straw man, however: "Although it appears that R is a stock character...."

  3. i think this is a great thesis. But it would probably help to narrow down his different characteristics because then it could be a very broad essay.
