Thesis

The life of the character, Jane Eyre, in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Erye, typifies many aspects of life that Bronte herself encountered, although portrayed in a more idealized way.

  1. This sounds like a good setup for a compare contrast essay between Jane's life and Bronte's, but i feel that the arguable fact that she "portrayed it in a more idealized way" might be to narrow and easy to argue. Im not saying its needed but it might be helpful to make the argument slightly larger so that your proving something a little more than: Bronte exaggerates the good in Jane's life.

  2. I agree with Skylar. It is a bit narrow. However it is a very well stated essay, and if you feel like you can write a full essay with it. It will work.

  3. I didnt want to specify too detailed a thesis, because I found such a wide veriety of different points Bronte had incorporated into 'Jane Eyre' of which she wished had happened in her life. I can see your points however and will consider expanding.

  4. phrasing is awkward. Clean it up and activate it. 'Typifies' isn't the right word. Make sure you address the motivations CB might have had to write this 'idealized autobiography'
